BREAKFAST WITH THE BUNNY

Saturday, April 4 from 9:00-10:00 am

You are invited to eat breakfast with the Bunny. Enjoy a buffet breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, hash browns, fruit, and yogurt. Children will have the opportunity to visit with the Bunny so be sure to bring a camera. Each family member attending the breakfast (regardless of age), must register and pay. We do not have booster seats or high chairs available. There will be assigned seating, so please inform us of any special seating requests. Limit 6 people per household.

EGG HUNT

Saturday, April 4 at 10:00 am SHARP!

Join the River Forest Park District and the Bunny for springtime fun at our annual Egg Hunt! The FREE! event is held in designated areas of Keystone Park West. Children ages 2-10 will be divided into age groups, and hunt for hundreds of candy and sticker-filled eggs with children of similar age. Children should also be on the lookout for special golden eggs that are redeemable for prizes.

Bring a basket and a camera!

DES PLAINES RIVER CLEANUP

Make a difference this Earth Day by participating in the annual Des Plaines River Cleanup. To thank all the volunteers, the Park District will provide a continental breakfast. We encourage you and your family, organization, business, school, and neighborhoods to register as a team to volunteer your time to clean up the Des Plaines riverbank and Thatcher Woods.

Wear weather appropriate footwear and gloves. Event is rain or shine!

Join us at Keystone Park for a ROARING good time! Meet T-Rex, search for dinosaur fossils, examine real dinosaur bones, bounce in a dinosaur themed inflatable, music, balloon twisting, and donuts by Firecakes Donuts in Oak Park.

95TH ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY PARADE

Monday, May 25 from 9:30 am-1:00 pm

The River Forest Park District, River Forest Civic Association, and the Village of River Forest are the proud presenters of the 95th Annual Memorial Day Parade. The parade starts at 9:30 AM traveling from Constitution Park, south on Ashland Avenue to Lake Street, then west to Keystone Park, and will finish with a free hot dog lunch! Reserve your spot in the parade!

PARTIES IN THE PARK

Thursday, June 18 and Thursday, July 16 from 6:00-7:30 pm

Join us for Thursday Summer Nights Party in the Park on June 18 and July 16 for free entertainment! Bring a blanket and lawn chairs to enjoy a band in the park, face painting, balloon twister, grilled hot dogs, frozen treats, and more! This free event is great for families.

River Forest Park District, Rotary Club of Oak Park - River Forest, and the Village of River Forest presents Food Truck Rally. Join us at Keystone Park West for a variety of food trucks, family activities, inflatables, a beer tent, stage entertainment and more! This family-friendly event is a great finale to summer.

MAKIN' TRACKS 5K COMMUNITY RUN/WALK

Saturday, September 19 at 8:00 am

Run or walk in the Makin' Tracks 5K, a timed race for the whole family. All race participants will receive a t-shirt and goody bag. Net proceeds benefit West Suburban Special Recreation Association. Free Wheelchair Dash and Tot Race! This event is held at Concordia University Chicago, 7400 August Street, River Forest.

Join the River Forest Park District, Trailside Museum, and River Forest Library for an evening of fall family fun. Children 10 and under and their parents are invited to this free event with live music, pumpkin painting, live native animals, bonfire, spooky stories, s'mores and hot chocolate, telescope star viewing, night safari flashlight hike, boo bingo, lantern making & parade, and more. This event is held at Trailside Museum, 738 Thatcher Ave, River Forest.

HOLIDAY TREE TRIMMING

Thursday, December 3 from 4:00-5:00 pm

Celebrate Santa's arrival with cookies, hot chocolate, and tree lighting. Community businesses, organizations, and neighborhoods are invited to sponsor a tree, which will be on display along Lake Street in Memorial Parkway. A tree with lights will be provided and sponsors will trim the tree with their own decorations.

DECK THE DEPOT

Saturday, December 5 from 9:00 am-2:00 pm

Celebrate the season with a holiday trolley ride around town, complete with treats and the reading of the Polar Express™ story. At The Depot, enjoy a decadent hot cocoa bar, crafts, and pictures with Santa. This is a resident only event. Limit 6 tickets per household. Registration is only accepted in person at The Depot beginning October 5.
