Pick Up Your Park Week

APRIL 19-23

Celebrate Earth Day all week by helping pick up trash at your local park! Get rewarded for your efforts! Each person who comes into The Depot for a clean-up kit will be entered into a drawing to win a gift certificate good towards a River Forest Park District Summer Camp or Program. The Depot is open Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30 am-4:30 pm.

Des Plaines River Cleanup

Saturday, April 24 from 8-10 am

Join us rain or shine! Make a difference this Earth Day by participating in the annual Des Plaines River Cleanup. Volunteer your time to clean up the Des Plaines river bank and Thatcher Woods. Cleanup bags, disposable gloves, and first aid supplies will be available at both the River Forest Park District and the Trailside Museum of Natural History on Saturday, April 24 from 8:00-10:00 am. Register a group of up to 15 people by 4:00 pm on April 23rd.

Arbor Day

April 30 at 10:00 am

The River Forest Park District, the Village of River Forest, and the River Forest Sustainability Commission invite you to join us in celebrating Arbor Day by planting eight Elm trees in the Washington Triangle on Friday, April 30 at 10:00 am. Shovels will be available for residents to help plant the trees.
