Nomination papers for Park Commissioner (two to be elected) are now available at the Park District Administrative Office, 401 Thatcher Avenue, from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Petitions may be circulated beginning September 18, 2018. The Park District Administration Offices, 401 Thatcher Avenue, River Forest IL, will be open from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday, December 10, 2018, through Monday, December 17, 2018 (8:30am to 5:00pm), for the purpose of accepting candidate petitions for the Consolidated Election to be held on April 2, 2019, for the office of Park District Commissioner (two to be elected). At their August 2018 Board Meeting, the River Forest Park District Board of Commissioners approved a Resolution to decrease the length of term for Commissioners from six to four years. As a result, the April 2, 2019 election will be for two 4-year terms. In order to provide transition from 6-year terms to 4-year terms, one of the 4-year terms will be reduced to a 2-year term to be determined by lottery within 30 days after the election.
