Brian Wismer - Interactive Fun For All Ages!

Interactive game shows and challenges for the whole family to enjoy. Brian Wismer will keep you on your toes and in stitches with his quick witted instructions and zany requests!

Annette Fritts and the Cat Pack - Interactive Guitar Music!

Annette has been teaching guitar lessons for children in River Forest and loves to entertain. Come listen and dance to some fun family songs.

Grilled hot dogs and ice cream will be served and face painters and a balloon twister will be on hand to add to the fun - Bring the entire family for an evening filled with entertainment and
all free of charge!

Summer Camp Registration Open

The River Forest Park District's Summer Camp Programs are still available for registration online, and at The Depot, 401 Thatcher Avenue, River Forest. The Park District is expanding the hours of our morning camps to be a full half-day, and we have increased the number of our afternoon specialty camp offerings. A half-hour lunch program is also being offered to provide our morning campers the opportunity to transition into our afternoon camp programs without leaving camp. Memorial Parkway Landscape Project

Sealed written bids for the River Forest Park District's 2010 Memorial Parkway Landscape Project in River Forest, IL, shall be received until 10:00 am local time on July 29, 2010, at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Specifications may be picked up and bids returned to the River Forest Park District office, 401 Thatcher Avenue, River Forest, Illinois, starting July 8, 2010, between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This is a State of Illinois/Cook County Prevailing Wage Project, with a certified payroll to be turned into the Park District.

Parks Foundation Board Director Vacancy

The River Forest Park District is currently accepting applications to fill a vacant Parks Foundation Board Director position, term to expire in April, 2013.

The River Forest Parks Foundation is an independent group of River Forest residents and business representatives who support the need of parks and recreation for their commuity. The Parks Foundation was created to enhance the quality of life for all River Forest residents by helping provide, through volunteerism and contributions, the best in parks, facilities and recreation opportunities. All donations to the Parks Foundation are tax deductible, as defined by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

13th Annual Community Bank Makin' Tracks 5K Run/Walk

Registration is now available online at the River Forest Park District website at www.rfparks.com or at www.signmeup.com/69106. The race is scheduled for Saturday, October 2, 2010. The 5K Run/Walk will begin at 8:00 am SHARP, and the Tot races will begin at 8:45 am. The Community Bank Makin' Tracks 5K Run/Walk is presented by the Community Bank of Oak Park River Forest, the River Forest Park District, Concordia University Chicago, Fenwick High School, and Oak Park River Forest High School. Net proceeds from this event will benefit the West Suburban Special Recreation Association (WSSRA) to provide superior recreation services for adults and children who have a physical impairment, developmental delay, a mental disability, or any other type of disability. The race is a 3.1 mile USATF-certified course (USATF#IL-08078) that will run through the flat, tree-lined streets of River Forest. The course map is available on this website under the Makin' Tracks icon.
