The River Forest Service Club, River Forest Parks Foundation, River Forest Park District, and the Village of River Forest are proud sponsors of the 87th Annual Memorial Day Parade!
The parade kicks off at 10:00 am traveling from Constitution Park, (Willard School), south on Ashland Avenue to Lake Street, then west to Keystone Park, and will finish with a FREE hotdog lunch!
Any individual or business interested in entering a float or walking in the parade MUST come to The Depot, 401 Thatcher Avenue, and fill out the form by Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
Donation are encouraged if you cannot make the parade day.

The River Forest Park District will once again host our FREE Thursday Summer Nights. Bring the entire family for Parties in the Park, which will include Face Painting, Ballon Twister, Grilled Hot Dogs, Frozen Treats, and Live Entertainment -
6:00 pm - 7:30 pm.

The River Forest Park District will be offering vouchers to River Forest residents for discounts on the 2012 non-resident individual, lap, or family pool passes at the Park District of Forest Park OR the Park District of Oak Park. Each household will have the choice of ONE of the following options:
- $30 discount off non-resident individual rates when purchasing a 2012 seasonal pool pass at the Park District of Forest Park Aquatic Center.
- $60 discount off non-resident family rates when purchasing a 2012 seasonal pool pass at the Park District of Forest Park Aquatic Center.
- $15 discount off non-resident individual or lap rates when purchasing a 2012 seasonal pool pass for Ridgeland Commons or Rehm Pools. There is a limit of 4 individual vouchers per household. Only one voucher accepted per individual or lap pass purchase.
A limited number of vouchers will be available for pick-up onlyat The Depot, 401 Thatcher Avenue, beginning Tuesday,
May 1, 2012, at 8:30 am.
- Vouchers will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis, while supplies last.
- Distribution will be limited to one (1) voucher per household for the Park District of Forest Park vouchers, OR four (4) per household for the Park District of Oak Park vouchers.
- A valid driver's license will be required for the pick-up and redemption of the voucher(s).
- Forest Park vouchers must be redeemed in person at the Park District of Forest Park Administration Office; Oak Park vouchers at the Hedges Administration Center or at Ridgeland Commons.
- Vouchers may not be applied for daily gate admission.
- Vouchers must be redeemed between May 2-May 18, 2012.

Sealed written bids for the River Park District's 2012 Keystone Park East Playground Installation Project, shall be received until 10:00 am local time, May 11, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Specifications may be picked up and bids returned at the River Forest Park District office, 401 Thatcher Avenue, River Forest, Illinois, starting April 18, 2012 between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This is a State of Illinois/Cook County Prevailing Wage project, with a certified payroll, to be turned into the Park District.
Ten percent (10%) Bid Surety is required on this project. The successful contractor must be able to provide a satisfactory Performance Bond, Labor and Material Bond, and required proof of insurance within ten (10) days of the award of the contract.
The Board of Commissioners of the River Forest Park District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any technicalities or formalities which it deems to be in the best interest of the District.
All work must be warranted for one (1) year from date of acceptance.
All prices are F.O.B. River Forest, Illinois. Any questions regarding this bid should be directed to Michael Sletten, Executive Director, 708-366-6660 xt. 101.

The River Forest Park District Summer Fun Guide has been mailed to all residents. Resident registration begins April 23and Non-Resident registration begins May 14. Once again, we will be offering our half-day camps, along with our lunch program, which will provide our morning campers the opportunity to transition into our afternoon specialty camp offerings without leaving camp.
