100 Days to 100 Years!
On May 6th the River Forest Park District kicked off 100 Days to 100 Years! This is a countdown to our 100 Year Anniversary being celebrated on August 15, coinciding with the annual Clear Sky Festival. To celebrate we will be sharing trivia, photos, and fun facts related to the Park District’s history over the past 100 years. This information will be shared on our Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as our newly launched Instagram account! The fun will continue at our anniversary party on August 15 as we hold a social media scavenger hunt with great prizes. Start following us now for fun facts and a head start on our scavenger hunt. Also, do you have any pictures of you or your family having a great time at a park district event? Whether it was last year or 100 years ago, submit them via social media or email them to smedema@rfparks.com.

Community Survey
In early May, many River Forest residents will be receiving a River Forest Park District Community Survey. The Survey will be distributed to 2,000 households, soliciting resident input in determining the recreation needs of the community. If you receive a Survey, please complete and return it, as this information will drive the Board’s decisions over the next 4 years. Information from this Survey will be used in the development of the upcoming River Forest Park District Strategic Plan. If you did not receive a Survey and wish to participate, feel free to stop by The Depot at 401 Thatcher to complete a Survey. The River Forest Park District has placed its 2013-2014 Combined Budget and Appropriation Ordinance on file for public inspection. Said Ordinance may be examined between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, at the Depot, 401 Thatcher Avenue, River Forest, Illinois. A public hearing on said Ordinance will be held at 6:00pm on Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Depot, 401 Thatcher Avenue, River Forest, Illinois.
